Innovation is a key part of our approach. By adopting advanced technologies, we work to address evolving market needs and develop products that meet high quality standards.
Water plays a fundamental role in Sofidel’s manufacturing processes. The Group manages its operations through dedicated programmes, structured processes and defined objectives that are monitored over time, supported by advanced water treatment systems.
Water resource management is an important part of Sofidel’s operational approach. The Group has introduced water recycling systems, monitoring tools and control mechanisms across its operations, and uses rainwater where applicable. These initiatives are supported by defined objectives and ongoing monitoring as part of the continuous management of water-related aspects of the business.
Sofidel plants integrate advanced technologies and dedicated solutions for the treatment and management of water used in manufacturing processes. In Porcari (Lucca, Italy), the Waste Water Reuse system includes a triple-treatment process for water treatment and reuse. At the Baglan facility (UK), a dedicated rainwater collection and utilisation system supports site operations.
Sofidel’s production network is equipped with biological wastewater treatment plants, managed both internally and by specialized partners. Thanks to this focus on water efficiency, the Group boasts an average specific consumption of just 7.6 liters per kilogram of paper produced, setting a benchmark for excellence in the industry.
