On September 28, 2018, Sofidel joins in with FSC Friday, the annual celebration of the world's forests and responsible forest management for our lives and for those of future generations. People, schools, organizations, communities and associations can share this message in many different and simple ways. On FSC Friday everyone is invited to celebrate and help take care of the forests and the people, plants, and animal species that depend on them.
Sofidel implements policies to limit environmental impacts long the entire value creation chain: from reducing direct emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere (thanks to investments in energy efficiency, in the use of cogeneration plants and renewable energy sources), through safeguarding water resources (limiting its consumption within production processes), to sourcing of pulp certified by independent third parties with forest certification schemes (FSC®, FSC Controlled Wood, SFI®, PEFC™).
Sofidel supports the Vancouver Declaration, a public promise made by companies across the globe to work towards more sustainable forest products. 100% of the Sofidel Group consumer products sold in Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, France and Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg) have the FSC® mark.
