{"id":7782,"date":"2026-08-04T11:13:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T10:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sofidel.com\/?post_type=comunicato&#038;p=7782"},"modified":"2026-08-04T11:45:00","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T10:45:00","slug":"sofidel-america-commissions-a-new-photovoltaic-system-in-circleville-ohio","status":"publish","type":"comunicato","link":"https:\/\/www.sofidel.com\/en\/press-releases\/sofidel-america-commissions-a-new-photovoltaic-system-in-circleville-ohio\/","title":{"rendered":"Sofidel America commissions a new photovoltaic system in Circleville, Ohio"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The 4.65 MW photovoltaic system will help supply renewable electricity to the Circleville facility, one of Sofidel\u2019s main production sites in North America<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Porcari (Lucca), Italy, August 4, 2026<\/em> \u2013 <strong>Sofidel, <\/strong>one of the world\u2019s leading manufacturers of paper for hygienic and household use, known particularly in Italy and Europe for its Regina brand, continues its energy transition journey with the <strong>commissioning of a new photovoltaic system at its Circleville facility in Ohio (USA)<\/strong>, one of the Group\u2019s main production sites in North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Installed on the roof of the reel warehouse built as part of the facility\u2019s recent expansion, the system consists of <strong>8,010 photovoltaic panels<\/strong> and has a<strong> total installed capacity of 4.65 MW<\/strong>. Since the system became operational, <strong>approximately 1,084 tonnes of CO<\/strong><strong>\u2082<\/strong><strong> emissions were avoided between January and June 2026<\/strong>, based on the area&#8217;s market-based emission factor of 454.9 gCO\u2082\/kWh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project follows the recent start-up of the facility\u2019s third paper machine, bringing its annual production capacity to more than 200,000 tons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;The commissioning of the Circleville photovoltaic system will enable us to significantly reduce the environmental impact of one of our key production sites. It marks another step forward in the Group&#8217;s strategy to expand the use of renewable energy worldwide.
