The award is dedicated to the brands in the paper sector that have distinguished themselves the most through environmental performance and to the paper manufacturers committed to guaranteeing the transparency of their products\u2019 footprint and the constant effort to improve environmental performance.\n\nThree Sofidel products received the <a href=\"http:\/\/wwf.panda.org\/how_you_can_help\/live_green\/fsc\/save_paper\/paper_toolbox\/checkyourpaperdatabase\/environmental_paper_awards_2016\/\">2016 WWF Environmental Paper Awards<\/a> in the <em>Best Environmental Performance Paper Brands<\/em> category, a recognition reserved for companies who have made public the performance of their brands, certified by an independent third party, and have achieved a score of more than 80% according to the <em>\u201cCheck your Paper\u201d<\/em> method.\n\nThe products awarded, that have achieved an <strong>85% score<\/strong>, are:\n<ul>\n \t<li>Mini Jumbo Toilet Tissue Kraft<\/li>\n \t<li>Papernet Centrefeed Hand Towel<\/li>\n \t<li>Papernet Dissolve Tech v-folded Hand Towel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14px; color: #8d8d8d !important; font-family: OpenSansRegular; padding: 0; margin-bottom: 30px !important; line-height: 24px;\"><em>\u201cCheck your Paper\u201d<\/em> is a method developed by the WWF (<a href=\"http:\/\/checkyourpaper.panda.org\/\">http:\/\/checkyourpaper.panda.org<\/a>) in order to acknowledge and encourage the commitment of companies to reducing the footprint of their paper production in terms of wood sourcing, use of water and climate-changing emissions.<\/span>\n\nSofidel\u2019s commitment to the environment has taken concrete form for some time in a series of initiatives, many of which alongside WWF, to support good practice for limiting environmental impact, reducing waste and promoting responsible consumption, within a <strong>\u201cLess is more\u201d<\/strong> philosophy that characterises the Group\u2019s activity in its entirety.\n\nTo date, Sofidel, between 2009 and 2015, has already reduced its direct CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions by 17.8%, through investments in energy efficiency and through the use of cogeneration systems and renewable energy sources.
