\u00a0<\/em>More than 100 businesses and organisations gathered to promote the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second edition of the Italian Business & SDGs Annual Forum<\/strong> has been held in Lucca today. This event has been promoted by the Global Compact Network Italy Foundation<\/strong> (GCNI Foundation) in collaboration with Sofidel<\/strong>, the tissue production group known for the Regina brand and one of the Founding and Promoting members of the Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Forum aims to give a boost in Italy to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development from the United Nations<\/strong>, and has brought together more than 100 representatives including big companies, SMEs, organisations in civil society, Institutions, Universities and research bodies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day\u2019s work aimed towards designing \u201cCollective Actions\u201d<\/strong> on the part of business and non-business agents<\/strong> involved in supporting the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong> (SDGs) incorporated in the UN 2030 Agenda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe new global Agenda, adopted in September 2015 by the governments of the UN\u2019s 193 member countries, is a plan of action for people, the planet and prosperity that requires an integrated approach to sustainable development and collective action, at all levels, to take on the challenges of our<\/em> time,\u201d<\/em> recalls Marco Frey, Chairman of the GCNI Foundation.<\/strong> \u201cConsequently, the second edition of the Forum\u00a0\u2013 with the subtitle \u201cFrom Saying to Doing\u201d\u00a0\u2013 has been handled according to a participatory logic through working groups with some themes for discussion linked to the SDGs considered as a priority at a national level. The actions that are planned will be carried out in 2018 with the coordination of the GCNI Foundation.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u201cSofidel is pleased to host this important meeting for sustainable development in the city of Lucca,\u201d<\/em> stated Luigi Lazzareschi, CEO of the Sofidel Group<\/strong>. \u201cWe believe that an approach that joins together institutions, organizations and companies is the right one to effectively promote a socially and environmentally responsible growth. The iniziative has been promoted by Global Compact Network Italy Foundation in collaboration with Sofidel, that has hosted the event, and with the support of A2A and Edison. The event also obtained the patronage of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, of the Municipality of Lucca and of the business association Confindustria Toscana Nord \u2013 Lucca, Pistoia e Prato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
