Supplier involvement is key to the Group&#8217;s green transition and climate change strategy.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Porcari (LU), Italy, 04 April 2023<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Sofidel<\/strong>, one of the world\u2019s leader in the manufacturing of paper for hygienic and domestic use, best known for its Regina brand, <strong>has been included in the Leadership band of the CDP Supplier Engagement Rating Report<\/strong>.<strong> The A rating achieved in 2022<\/strong>, up from the A- rating in 2021, has <strong>put Sofidel on the CDP Leaderboard with the best companies in every sector worldwide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CDP is a nonprofit organization<\/strong> that supports investors, companies, cities, countries and regions worldwide in <strong>managing their environmental impact<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CDP Supplier Engagement Rating Report measures the <strong>ability to engage suppliers in the fight against climate change<\/strong> by assessing performance through selected questions on governance, goals and Scope 3 emissions (including all the indirect emissions produced in a company\u2019s value chain).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>With an A rating, the best on the scale, Sofidel ranks above the Paper products &amp; Packaging sector average (C-) and the overall European (C) and global average (C). <\/strong>Sofidel achieved the highest rating in the <em>Supplier Engagement<\/em> and <em>Scope 3 emissions<\/em> areas and was well above average in all others as well: <em>Targets<\/em>, <em>Governance<\/em> and <em>Overall CDP Climate Change score<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Supplier involvement is a key element of the green transition and climate change strategy. Inclusion in the Leaderboard of the CDP Supplier Engagement Rating Report 2022 is a valuable recognition of the work we are doing together with our suppliers. It is increasingly important to have transparent, reliable and shared reporting metrics<\/em>,&#8221; commented <strong>Riccardo Balducci, Group Sustainability Director<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sofidel is committed to reducing Scope 3 CO<sub>2 <\/sub>emissions per ton of paper by 24 percent from the 2018 base year by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sofidel\u2019s 2030 CO<sub>2<\/sub> emission reduction targets have been approved by the <strong>Science Based Targets<\/strong> <strong>initiative<\/strong> (SBTi) as consistent with the reductions needed to limit global warming to well below 2\u00b0C under the Paris Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Group\u2019s activities to promote collaboration with its suppliers also include the <strong>Sofidel Suppliers Sustainability Award (3SAward)<\/strong>.
